3M 89716 – Fibre Disc 782C (180 mm, 36+)

The 3M™ 782C fibre disc (ref. 89716) is designed for very fast cutting on mild steel and carbon steel, with less tool effort. Its "Precision-Shaped Grain" ceramic grain technology ensures high productivity and extended lifespan.

• Special for mild/carbon steel: weld removal, grinding, chamfering/beveling.
• 3M calibrated shaped grains (PSG): fast and consistent cut, reduced pressure.
• Less clogging and better cutting stability, even on sustained passes.
• Use with 180 mm semi-flexible backing pad (M14) for optimal performance.

Usage Instructions

1. Mount the disc on a suitable 180 mm M14 backing pad and use the protective guard.
2. Work dry, attack angle ~15°; apply moderate pressure and let the abrasive cut.
3. Respect the maximum speed (8,500 RPM at Ø 180 mm) and replace the disc if performance decreases.
