Spray Guns for Sealing and Putty
Spray guns for sealing and putty are used to apply protective and sealing products on the bodywork, structure, and internal areas of a vehicle. In short: to prevent the body from rusting, taking on water, or being sandblasted alive by road debris.
1. Application of Underbody Coating
Underbody coating is used to protect the undercarriage, sills, wheel arches, etc., against:
-
stone chips,
-
abrasion from gravel,
-
moisture and salt.
The gun allows for:
-
a consistent layer, thick or textured depending on the nozzle,
-
quick application,
-
adjusting the pressure to achieve the desired effect (light veiling or "orange peel" texture).
It is the preferred tool for restoring the original protective layer to the sills.
2. Injection of Cavity Wax
The "enclosed" areas of a car (chassis rails, door bottoms, pillars, reinforcements...) cannot be protected with a brush. Therefore, we use:
-
probe guns,
-
with flexible probes of different lengths.
They disperse a protective wax mist (cavity wax type) in 360°, allowing coverage of the entire internal volume.
Objective: stop corrosion in invisible but critical areas.
3. Application of Seam Sealer
Another key use: sealing.
We apply a waterproof putty at:
-
welds,
-
panel joints,
-
undercarriages,
-
wheel arches.
The guns ensure:
-
a consistent and durable bead,
-
optimal sealing against water and infiltration,
-
a clean and reproducible finish.
4. Aesthetic Textured Sprays
Some body shops use these guns to:
-
reproduce manufacturer textures (grainy, thick orange peel),
-
create technical finishes on utility vehicles and 4x4s,
-
apply thick coating products (Raptor, Gravitex, etc.).
The tool is therefore both functional and aesthetic.
In Summary
A sealing gun is a pneumatic Swiss army knife:
-
protects against impacts and abrasion (underbody coating),
-
prevents and stops corrosion (internal cavities),
-
ensures the sealing of joints (putties),
-
reproduces manufacturer textures.
