Sander and Polisher
Types of Sanders
There are several families of sanders suited to different work phases:
- Electric orbital sanders: ideal for finishing work, they offer a controlled circular motion that avoids overly pronounced sanding marks. With orbits of 2.5 mm, 3 mm, or 5 mm, they are suitable for both light rough sanding and final touch-ups.
- Pneumatic orbital sanders: similar to electric models but powered by a compressor. They ensure extended operating time and great maneuverability, without risk of thermal overload.
- Heavy-duty sanders: equipped with a larger orbit (up to 8 mm), they allow quick removal of thick layers of paint or putty. They are favored for interventions requiring significant material removal at the start of the job.
- Belt sanders: intended for very abrasive work, they are perfect for deburring and cleaning metal surfaces or for rapid rough sanding of large areas.
Types of Polishers
Polishers are designed to provide the finishing touch and achieve a perfect shine:
- Rotary electric polishers: powerful and versatile, they offer continuous rotation which, combined with a suitable foam, removes micro-scratches and achieves deep gloss.
- Orbital or roto-orbital electric polishers: less aggressive than rotary ones, they limit the risk of paint overheating and are perfect for finishing while ensuring uniform polishing.
- Portable mini polishers: ideal for accessing difficult areas (windshield bays, moldings, headlight contours), they easily slip over restricted surfaces.
- Polisher detailing kit: includes the tool, several polishing foams, and suitable liquids for complete preparation before painting or for restoring old clears.
Accessories and Maintenance
To optimize the use of sanders and polishers, consider the following accessories:
- Foams and velcro pads of different diameters and densities to adapt the tool to the type of treatment (wax development, intensive polishing, pre-sanding, etc.);
- Quick connect adapters to quickly change tools or nozzles without wasting time during compressor or electrical power operations;
- Holders and connectors to securely fix the device during interventions or to place the tool within reach in the workshop;
- Abrasive discs of different grits (finishing, standard, heavy-duty) for 150 mm orbital sanders or 70 × 198 mm.
By choosing sanders and polishers suited to each phase of the work—from rapid rough sanding to final polishing—you ensure a perfectly prepared surface, free of defects and ready to receive the paint or protection of your choice. Investing in quality tools and their accessories optimizes your workshop’s productivity and guarantees a result that meets professional standards.
