SIKKENS Washprimer 1K CF 514206 is a chromate-free one-component primer in a 400 ml aerosol for adhesion to bare metal. It improves adhesion and corrosion resistance of the paint system before a compatible primer is applied.

Properties and benefits

• Apply directly to prepared metal without mixing or thinning.
• Fast drying and corrosion protection for the applied paint system.

Application advice

• Clean, sand with P220–P320 and degrease with a suitable product. Avoid water-based degreasers on polyester fillers.
• Shake before use. Apply 1–2 single coats at 12–18 cm, at 15–35 °C and relative humidity below 75%.
• Allow 4–8 minutes between coats at 20 °C. Recoat after 15 minutes and within 24 hours at 20 °C.
• Recoat only with a compatible SIKKENS primer or surfacer. Do not directly overcoat with basecoats, water-based products, epoxy products, polyester fillers, Polysurfacer or Autosurfacer UV.
• After use, invert the aerosol and clear the nozzle for 2–3 seconds. For professional use: wear suitable respiratory protection and consult the technical and safety data sheets.
