D802 - PPG LS Hardener 1L

The D802 is the “NS” hardener of the DELTRON® system for 2K paints (Direct Gloss DG and compatible clears/primers). It ensures consistent curing and reliable workshop flow within usual temperature ranges.

• Standard hardener for DELTRON® Direct Gloss (DG) and compatible clears/primers.
• Proven process: easy-to-follow “NS” ratios and viscosities, very good application stability.
• Can be accelerated with D818 or replaced by D863/D864 for shorter cycles according to the TDS.
• Selection of thinners according to temperature (D807/D808/D812) to maintain optimal flow.

Technical Characteristics

• Type: 2K hardener NS (Normal Solids) – PPG DELTRON® range.
• Examples of ratios (volume): with DELTRON® DG: 2:1:0.5–1 (DG : D802 : thinner). With D800 clear: see clear TDS (NS or MS).
• Application viscosity (DG): ≈ 15 s DIN 4 with NS hardener.
• Pot-life (20 °C): 6–8 h with D802/D803/D841 (3–4 h with D863/D864).
• Possible acceleration: + D818 (≈15 min dust-free with D802) or use of accelerated hardeners D863/D864 (see TDS).
• Temperature guides (ex.): 18–25 °C: D802 + D807; >25 °C: D802 + D812 (extreme conditions: D869).
• Compatibilities: DELTRON® DG systems (D700), D800 clear and certain 2K PPG primers (refer to product TDS).

Usage Instructions

1. Climate choice: select the appropriate thinner (D808 fast / D807 medium / D812 slow) with D802 according to workshop temperature.
2. Mixing: follow the ratio from the product's TDS (e.g., DG 2:1:0.5–1 with D802), homogenize.
3. Application (DG): 1 mist coat + 2 full coats (NS), flash-off ~5 min between coats and ~10 min before baking.
4. Optional acceleration: add D818 or substitute D802 with D863/D864 according to the official procedure.
