Technical Characteristics

• Family: DELTRON® GRS – Direct Gloss (D700, tinters D7xx).
• Nature: 2K acrylic urethane direct gloss lacquer (single-stage).
• Mixing Ratios:
  • Standard System (NS) : 2 : 1 : 0.5–1 (DG : D802 : thinner).
  • MS System : 3 : 1 : 0.5–1 (DG : hardener MS D803/D841/D861 : thinner).
• Hardener / Thinner Choice (guides):
  • ≤ 18 °C: D803 (accelerated MS) + D808 (fast).
  • 18–25 °C: D841 (medium MS) + D807 (medium).
  • > 25 °C: D861 (slow MS) + D812 (slow); extreme conditions > 35 °C/>70% RH: D869 (very slow).
• Application Viscosity (20 °C) : 15 s DIN4 (NS); 17–18 s DIN4 (MS).
• Pot-life (20 °C) : 6–8 h (NS); approx. 6 h (MS).
• Recommended Nozzle : 1.4–1.8 mm (pressure according to gun manufacturer).
• Number of Coats / DFT :
  • With NS: 1 mist coat + 2 full coats → 45–50 µm dry.
  • With MS: 1 medium coat + 1 full coat → 55–60 µm dry.
• Flash-off : ~5 min between coats; ~10 min before baking.
• Drying (20 °C) : dust-free 20–30 min; through-dry ~20 h. Baking 60 °C : ~30 min (depending on shade/process).

Application Method

1. Substrate Preparation : on original baked finishes or recommended PPG primers; degrease (Deltron Cleaners range).
2. Mixing : adhere to the ratio (NS or MS) and choose hardener/thinner according to temperature. Mix thoroughly.
3. Application : 2 passes according to system (see above), allowing to matte between coats. Respect viscosity and nozzle.
4. “Express” Option : accelerated hardeners D863/D864 and/or Accelerator D818 (see TDS) to reduce cold drying time.
5. Local Touch-ups : use Fade-Out Thinner D868 (mix 1 : 3 from activated shade) to blend the edge of the mist coat.

Compatibilities & Finishes

Recoatable after cooling (forced drying) or ~8 h at 20 °C; sand P800 (wet) / P400 (dry) before recoating. Special finishes possible with additives: matte/satin (D819/D759), fine texture (D843), leather grain (D844), flexible (D814) – see TDS tables.
