A high-performance low gloss clearcoat
The PPG low gloss clearcoat D8115 is a 2k acrylic clears (an acrylic resin and a hardener) that react together to form a hard and resistant film. This type of clears offers excellent protection against scratches, impacts, weather, and UV, while maintaining a low gloss and uniform appearance.
Designed to be used on Envirobase High Performance finishes, it will allow you to reproduce a range of low gloss levels for specialized vehicle repair, while benefiting from ease of application and excellent durability.
Adapt its use according to your repairs
Some vehicles, especially high-end models, have body parts with a low gloss appearance, such as bumpers, mirrors, spoilers, or decorative strips. These parts require a specific clears that must match the gloss level of the vehicle being repaired.
For this, the low gloss clearcoat D8115 can be mixed with the satin clearcoat D8117, another 2k acrylic clears from the same range, to achieve the desired gloss level. The mixing ratio varies depending on the gloss level to be reached, ranging from 100% D8115 for a very low gloss appearance, to 50% D8115 and 50% D8117 for a satin appearance.
An easy to apply and dry low gloss clearcoat
The clears is applied in two and a half coats:
- A homogeneous coat, then let dry until the surface is completely and uniformly low gloss
- A homogeneous coat immediately followed by a lighter cross coat
- Allow a flash-off time of 15 to 30 minutes between each homogeneous coat
It can also be used on rigid plastics without special additives, which simplifies the repair process. The PPG low gloss clearcoat D8115 guarantees you a professional result, with a homogeneous and durable low gloss appearance.
