Surface Preparation

• Clean with solvent-based degreaser 3919S
• Primer sanding: P500 (manual or 5 mm orbital)
• Finish: P800 to P1000 (2.5 mm orbital) to avoid swirl marks ("pig tails")

Painting

• Choose an HVLP gun with a 1.3 to 1.5 mm nozzle
• Pressure: 0.7 bar at the nozzle / 1.8 – 2.2 bar at the gauge
• Mix: 3 parts paint to 1 part Cromax hardener
• Compatible hardeners:
  • XK203 – Fast
  • XK205 – Standard
  • XK206 – Slow
• Application: 2 thin coats with a 5-minute flash-off between each

Drying

• Paint booth or short-wave infrared drying
• Recoatable within 24 h after fine sanding if necessary

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

• FFP3 mask recommended (e.g., 3M 06942)
• Paint suit (e.g., 3M 50198)
• Nitrile gloves suitable for solvents
