Surface preparation

• Clean and degrease with solvent cleaner 3919S.
• Sanding of primer-surfacer or primer with P500 grit.
• For repair areas, sand with P500-P600 using a 5mm orbit sander, then finish with P800-P1000 using a 2.5mm orbit sander to avoid "pig tails" (uneven sanding marks).

Painting

• Recommended spraygun: HVLP cap with 1.3 - 1.4 - 1.5 mm nozzle according to manufacturer recommendation.
• Air flow: 0.7 bar at the nozzle exit, 1.8 - 2.2 bar at the inlet gauge.
• Mandatory personal protective equipment: FFP3 mask (e.g., 3M 06942), 3M 50198 coverall, nitrile gloves.
• Hardeners available: fast (XK203), standard (XK205), slow (XK206).
• Mixing ratio: 3 parts paint to 1 part hardener.
• Application: spray 2 coats with a 5-minute flash-off between coats.

Drying

• Choice between drying in a booth or short-wave infrared dryer.
• Recoating possible within 24 hours with sanding.
