The 3M 02087 is a finishing abrasive disc with a foam backing, P3000 grit, designed for refining automotive painted surfaces before polishing. Thanks to Trizact technology, it offers consistent and durable cutting while preparing a smooth and uniform surface, ideal for the finishing phase.

Usage Tips

1. Surface preparation: before final sanding, ensure the surface is clean, dust-free, and that sanding with P1500–P2000 has been done if necessary.
2. Moistening: use the disc slightly damp with water — never soak it.
   
3. Sanding: perform at least 5 passes with about 50% overlap (manual mode or with an orbital sander equipped with a soft Hookit pad).
   
4. Inspection & finishing: check that scratches are removed and the surface is smooth. If needed, refine further, then proceed to polishing or clear coating (or use the 3M Perfect-It finishing system).
5. Hard-to-reach areas: for curved surfaces or complex zones, use a soft backing pad or interface pad for better adaptation.

• Product intended for professional use or demanding work (bodywork, detailing, paint finishing).
  
• Always use wet — dry sanding is not recommended — to avoid overheating and extend disc life.
