Restagraf – steel blind rivet nut, round body M8×1.25 (range 0.5 to 3 mm)
Blind rivet nut in steel with a round body and M8×1.25 threading, designed to create a reusable thread in thin sheets and closed profiles in bodywork. Ideal when access is possible from only one side.
Key Features
- Blind installation: installation from only one side of the sheet (doors, tailgates, reinforcements, cross members).
- Robust threading: durable M8 threading for standard screws/bolts, repeated disassemblies.
- Material versatility: suitable for steel/aluminum sheets, reinforced plastics, and hollow profiles.
- Clean fastening: does not deform the visible surface, providing a neat and professional finish.
Technical Specifications
- Type: blind rivet nut, round body.
- Material: zinc-plated steel (corrosion-resistant).
- Internal threading: M8×1.25.
- Clamping thickness range: 0.5 to 3.0 mm.
- Indicative drilling diameter: ~11.0 mm (to be confirmed according to series/installation set).
- Body appearance: round (ensure a clean drilling to prevent rotation).
- Usage: bodywork, accessory fastenings, inserts in reinforcements and profiles.
Recommended Applications
- Fastening of brackets, cable passages, screens, modules, and bodywork accessories.
- Creation of an M8 thread on thin sheet metal without welding or traditional threading.
- Areas with unilateral access (longerons, pillars, door/tailgate frames, double floors).
Installation Guide (Workshop)
- Identify the location, drill Ø ~11.0 mm; deburr and degrease.
- Insert the M8 rivet nut into the hole (body flush and perpendicular).
- Screw the installation tool (manual, lever, or pneumatic-hydraulic) onto the M8 threading.
- Rivet until the collar is fully set (firm feel). Do not over-compress.
- Unscrew the tool; check that the insert is secure and the threading is free.
Best Practices & Safety
- Perform a clean and correctly sized drilling to prevent insert rotation.
- On very smooth supports, a slight knurling or adhesion primer can improve anti-rotation.
- Select the thickness range corresponding to the sheet: out of range = risk of incomplete riveting.
- Use PPE (glasses, gloves); regularly check the tool's stroke adjustment.
- For corrosive environments, protect the assembly (paint, cavity wax, sealing washers if necessary).
