VR1122 - Cromax Express ValueClear VOC Clearcoat 5L

Cromax VR-1122 Express ValueClear VOC is a high-solids 2K clearcoat designed for spot repairs as well as repairs involving multiple panels. Combined with Value VOC activators, it offers fast, consistent curing and a durable, glossy, uniform finish.

Surface preparation

• Cromax basecoats must be properly dried and flashed off in accordance with their technical data sheet before applying the clears.
• Old finishes must be sanded and thoroughly degreased before application.
• The product must be brought to a temperature between 18 and 25 °C before use.

Application

• Compliant spraygun: 1.2 to 1.4 mm nozzle with a spray pressure between 1.8 and 2 bar.
• HVLP spraygun: 1.2 to 1.3 mm nozzle with an air cap pressure of 0.7 bar.
• 2-coat application: Apply a first thin, closed coat, followed by a second normal coat.
• Intermediate flash-off: 5 to 10 minutes at 20 °C.
• Final evaporation: 5 to 10 minutes at 20 °C before drying.
• 1.5-coat application: Apply a half-coat followed immediately by a full coat, without intermediate flash-off.

Drying time

• At 20 °C: 8 to 16 hours
• At 50–55 °C: 25 to 40 minutes
• At 60–65 °C: 20 to 35 minutes
• Short-wave infrared drying: 5 minutes at half power, then 10 minutes at full power

Application advice

• Allow sufficient heating time for the part to reach the recommended drying temperature.
• Do not pour excess ready-to-use product back into its original packaging.
• Close the activator can immediately after use to prevent any reaction with moisture in the air.
• For semi-flexible systems, 10% Flexibilizing Additive 805R may be added to the base product. The proportions of activator and thinner remain unchanged.
• Clean the equipment after use with a suitable solvent-based cleaner for sprayguns.
