Preparation and painting

Recommended protective equipment : suit (e.g. 3M 50198L), FFP2 mask (3M 06942), nitrile gloves.

1. Painting substrate

• Original old paint or Ixell 1K / 2K primer (Fortia C1/C3/C5 or Univia C1/C6)

2. Substrate preparation

• Degreasing with Ixell HS3 NF and body wiping cloth
• Primer: Fortia or Levia
• Sanding: grit P600 to P800, finishing with Scotch-Brite P1000 sponge
• Final cleaning: Ixell H2O

3. Tint preparation

• Follow the formula via the Ixell software
• Shake the pots well before mixing to homogenize the pearlescent and metallic particles

4. Application

• HVLP spraygun nozzle 1.2 or 1.3 mm recommended (e.g. Devilbiss DVI or Satajet X5500)
• Apply 2 wet coats + 1 placement mist for a uniform metallic effect
• Pass in oven before clears application
