Surface preparation

Before any application:

• Clean and degrease the surface with a water-based degreaser, then a solvent-based degreaser.

• Compatible substrate: original or old paint well sanded, sanded primer, or wet-on-wet not sanded.

• Recommended sanding:

  • By machine: P500–P600

  • By hand: P800–P1000

Paint preparation

• Shake the cans well to homogenize the color.

• Possibility to add up to 10% demineralized water 8000.

• After adding the viscosity adjuster, apply within one hour.

• Apply in 1 full coat covering 70–80% + 1 placement mist to even out the metallic effect.

Recommended application

• HVLP spraygun recommended :

  • Satajet X5500 nozzle 1.2 (ref. 166364)

  • Devilbiss DV1 nozzle 1.2 or 1.3

• Method:

  • 1 wet coat + 1 cross placement mist

  • Respect distances and overlap for optimal particle placement

Finish

Then proceed to clearcoating with a compatible Standox clear, such as:

• Easy K9510 : simple, economical, and effective

• XTRA Clear K9560 : high-end performance and gloss

Safety and storage

• Wear a paint suit (e.g. 3M 50198L), an FFP2 mask (3M 06942), and nitrile gloves.

• Store protected from frost and excessive heat.
