Recommended surface preparation

• Old paint or original paint properly sanded and cleaned
• Degrease with a hydro degreaser, such as Spies Hecker Silicone Remover 7080 surface cleaner
• Sand the primer or primer coat up to P500 grit with a 5mm eccentric orbital machine
• Use the wet-on-wet process with un-sanded primer
• Finish sanding with P800 using a 2.5mm orbit pneumatic finishing sander to avoid marks
• Clean surfaces before application with a solvent-based degreaser
• Sand repair areas with P500-P600 (machine) or P800-P1000 (by hand)
• Filter ready-to-use paint through a 125µ cone filter before application
• Respect dilution with WB6000 water

Application of the Spies Hecker Permahyd matte basecoat (two-coat finishes)

• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (3M suit, FFP3 mask, nitrile gloves)
• Use a spray gun with HVLP cap and 1.3 or 1.4 nozzle
• Input pressure: 1.8 to 2 bar, atomization pressure at output: 0.7 bar
• Apply 2 wet coats
• Apply a placement coat (final effect layer) for metallic and pearlescent shades
• Let dry until a completely matte finish is obtained
• Apply a compatible clear to finish the paint
