RM ONYX HD HB861 Waterborne Base – 0.5 L

The RM ONYX HD HB861 base is part of the ONYX HD waterborne base system, intended for automotive repair. It integrates perfectly into the two-coat process for refinishing, covering solid, metallic, and pearlescent colors, with simple application and high productivity.

Application

• Preparation: mix each color thoroughly before use; shake for 15 min on the mixing module.
• Mixing ratio: 100 vol. ONYX HD base + 60 vol. Hydromix (or Hydromix Slow depending on conditions).
• Viscosity at 20 °C: ISO 4: 42–68 s • DIN 4: 18–25 s
• Pot life: 6 months in a closed container (base only) • 1 week once ready to use.
• Spraygun: HVLP gravity, nozzle 1.4–1.5 mm • pressure 0.7 bar at the cap.
• Application:
  • Opaque colors: 2 to 3 coats (20–25 µm)
  • Metallic/pearlescent colors: 1–2 coats + 1 mist coat (12–15 µm)
• Evaporation: allow to matte between each coat.

Drying

• At 20 °C: approximately 15 min (faster with additional airflow)
• At 45 °C: approximately 10 min + cooling

Compatible with

• On sanded RM primers (P400)
• On OEM substrates or wet-on-wet prepared with an RM sealer

Usage and safety advice

• Do not use a microfilter in the spraygun for metallic or pearlescent shades.
• Use the ONYX HD Activator for specific applications validated by manufacturers.
• Clean the surface with PK2000 before application.
• Product for professional use only • wear appropriate gloves, goggles, and mask.
