Mixing ratio:

Respect a mixing ratio of 3:1:0.6 by volume:

• UHS hardener D8302
• Thinners D8714/D8718/D8719/D8720

Spraying:

• Spraygun RP
• Nozzle 1.2mm – 1.3mm
• Pressure 2 – 2.2 Bar

Application method:

• Apply a medium coat and a thick coat to obtain a dry film thickness of 50 - 60 microns.
• The first coat must be applied on all panels to be repaired before applying the second coat.

Waiting time between coats:

• If there are fewer than 3 panels, 2 - 3 minutes
• If there are more than 3 panels, no waiting time is required.

Drying time:

• Through dry at 60°C: 15 minutes with hardener D8302
• Through dry with infrared: 8 to 15 minutes (depending on the color)

The UHS Premium D8173 is a two-component acrylic clear. Designed for demanding professionals, it is praised for its finishing quality and durability over time.

Compatibility with Envirobase High Performance

PPG has optimized the D8173 to benefit from perfect synergy with Envirobase High Performance bases. Combined with their waterborne formula, drying times are extremely fast and the whole guarantees an excellent final appearance. After applying your base, however, be sure to wipe a dust cloth over your surface before applying the clear.

Fast drying for energy savings

Because time is money. Combined with hardener D8302, the clear dries in only 15 minutes at 60°C. Less time in the booth means both more economy and more time for you.

• Mix the clear well before use
• Ensure you have a clean and well-ventilated environment to facilitate application and drying
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure your safety during application
• Perform a test on a non-visible area of the vehicle before proceeding with full application, to verify product compatibility and adhesion
