Professional Tips for Applying RM Automotive Paint

1. Clean and degrease with RM PK1000. Protect non-painted areas with masking tape.

2. Sand the old paint using an electric sander (e.g., MIRKA MID6804044) or pneumatic sander (e.g., RUPES RH356A). Finish corners by hand.

3. Mix and apply primers, 2–3 coats with 10-minute intervals and 20 minutes drying between each. Sand with P2000 after drying.

4. Clean the spray gun and wipe the primed surface with thinner.

5. Apply 2 wet coats + 1 light coat for metallic finishes using an HVLP 1.3 nozzle (e.g., SATA Satajet X5500).

6. Apply clearcoat:

   • RAPIDCLEAR for fast drying

   • DIAMONTCLEAR for a high-gloss finish

   • EASYCLEAR for general repairs

   • CHRONOLUX CP for small area refinishing

7. Remove masking tape (e.g., 3M 06304) while the paint is still slightly wet.
